As you can see, Max has been keeping me company and I'm thinking he might go through some withdrawal once I return to work.
I stayed on the meds "Oxycodone" for four days and stopped Sat evening. As well, I've been getting around a few times a day with the crutches for bathroom breaks and to sit outside with Aaron and the kids.
Emma couldn't care less about the whole thing as long as we can still have tea parties and play 'beauty parlour' then there is no issue. Ethan on the other hand is quite the opposite. Once he got over the emotional aspect of seeing me like this, then it became "why does it smell funny" (the bandages of course have a medicinal smell) and "why are your toes yellow" (they could've done a better job cleaning up the remaining dried blood and iodine on the other toes). Anyway, they're managing alright.
Mom has been an absolute saviour with coming to the house each weekday from 9 till about 1, helping out with everything from tidying up to doing lots of laundry. She even cleans litter boxes!! Aaron is doing double duty with child dropoff and pickup, working a much shorter day than usual, then comes home and makes dinner while we watch TV and catch up on their days.
I'm supposed to be off for 3 weeks and have a postop followup after 2 weeks so we'll see how that goes.
I seem to have reached my limit with respect to number of days tolerance for inactivity. I've been awake since 2am and have never experienced this kind of restlessness in my whole life! It's so frustrating. If anyone has any ideas for a cure it would be most appreciated, as I'm dreading going to bed tomorrow night. Doesn't help that I'm on the sofabed in the livingroom ... which is completely messing up my lowerback.
Alright, perhaps it's time to try sleeping again. Take care everyone.

So glad the surgery is behind you. Now for the recovery. Hope you feel stronger every day. You'll be jumping rope with Emma by the time I arrive. Take care. Thinking of you.
Love Aunt M
The Oxycodone... You still have some left right? That will totally solve the restless problem.
They picked me off as a stimulus pig as soon as I walked into the hospital and would only give me T3's after my hand surgery :-(
World of Warcraft! Just ask that junkie, Brenda.
I'm sure the "funny smell" and the "yellow colour" of you feet are all to do with "the Doctors"
Say Cheese.
I go in for my shoulder surgery on Sept 4. Give me a couple of weeks of being bandaged up then I can compare smells with you.
Here's to a quick recovery.
To Doug: Yes, that is exactly what I've resorted to ... a little oxycodone at storytime each night and I sleep like a baby (for the most part).
To Scott: Good luck on Tuesday. Just make sure they wipe away any excess iodine afterward. That yellow that Ethan loved so much is now greenish-grey ... LOVELY!
