SOLD ... again ... maybe?

Jill here. This is getting monotonous! Last night we accepted another offer. A little under what our tolerance level was, but that just means no hottub for Aaron. No sweat off my back. As long as I still get the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Anyway, we aren't too excited just yet because inspection has to happen next week, and we all know what happened at the last inspection. So we'll wait and see.

In an attempt to reduce the potential number of items appearing on the impending inspection report, Aaron managed to tear down and rebuild the side deck all between 10am and 5pm today. That included the trip to Home Depot as well as a trip to the dump to dispose of the old deck. I was VERY impressed. We'll see what the inspector says.

We close on our Burlington home in only 2 weeks! And then the fun begins. Ok, not quite so much "fun" as at Brunts, but mildly entertaining. We'll start with ripping out all the trim, replacing it, and repainting most of the interior. I say "we" but most of this will probably be done by hired help, as we simply don't have enough vacation time. And the lower floor windows will all (if I get my way) be replaced. Then we have to start prioritizing what really NEEDS to be done after that.

As a reward to ourselves for tolerating the stress of the past couple of months, and simply because we haven't been on an airplane since fall of 2000 for our honeymoon, we are taking a family trip somewhere to an all inclusive resort. Probably Cuba as it's so reasonable, but we'll see. Perhaps I'll give Scott & Siobhan a call to get some referrals for kid friendly spots.

Last piece of news is VERY exciting for me. After an approximately 4-5 year search for pain relief in both feet (joint of each big toe) I finally convinced the orthopedic surgeon to operate on me. Ok, honestly, he likes tall blondes. All I care is the one stat he said ... "you will experience a 70-80% reduction in pain". HALLELUJAH (sp?) !!!!! It's pretty exhausting being in moderate pain 24/7 and occasionally being in severe pain such that I'm limping or popping anti-inflammatories. And the real bonus is that the end result is that my big toes will be shortened!!! Do you know what this potentially means for someone who wears a women's size 11-12??? You can bet I'll be asking him to take me down to a 9 which is much easier to shop for! Ok, I'm kidding, it's only about an eighth of an inch that he is removing from each. Anyway, surgery is scheduled for Aug 22nd as out patient so mom and/or dad will have to babysit me for a few days until I can get around on crutches.

OK - this is long enough for tonight.
More later.

Yikes Jill, that's a lot of time to be hobbling around in pain - with your schedule and 2 little ones. Bring on the surgery and hallelujah is right!!!

Great news about your feet. You should be up and around by the time I get to Ont. in Sept. Good luck with the inspection next week. Looking forward to seeing you.
