The Poor Skating Rink

Not quite as successful as last year, due to a rather mild winter so far. This year we figured we would pay an extra $30 or so to have a water truck do the deed instead of filling it overnight with the risk of "tunnels" being created from the hose and things like that. Besides, I know for me at least, it was a better sleep ... it's difficult to sleep when I'm worried about things overflowing onto the yard and into the neighbors'. I had to rely on Aaron's calculations of the size of the rink versus the water flow from the tap, etc. etc. ... you try having a sound sleep under those conditions!

Anyway, it filled, it thawed a bit, it evaporated a bit, Aaron topped it up, and we've had probably 5-6 good skating sessions thus far since early January. Here's a pic of the water truck doing the job in 30 minutes instead of 8 hours!
