Call me simple, but yes, having a snow day off with pay certainly helps make up for any financial shortcomings. And I bet you Halton Region taxpayers out there just love me for saying that! :-)
It could be a bit sweeter if Ethan didn't have such a wicked cold/cough right now because then we could hook up with other snow day friends today. Guess I can't have it all after all...
I might as well give a quick update while I'm here. Aaron is currently looking for his next contract as the current one ends this week. He has a few promising leads and is holding out for a Ministry of Labour position in downtown Toronto. We'll see.
Aaron has our beautiful ice rink up and running for the 2nd year and it is awesome. Have had neighbours, friends, and Brunts on it and Ethan & Emma are getting lots of practice. They both just started their lessons as they aren't too inclined to listen to us when it comes to instruction.
Ethan & I are starting karate classes on the weekend. It's a class we take together, so it should be great for some mommy/son bonding.
Lastly, we just finished our latest home renovation. We redid the powder room on the main floor and are really happy with the results. That would be the FIFTH bathroom reno we've done in the two homes we've owned, so I guess we very well SHOULD be happy with the results. If I can dig up some pics I'll post them here. That's it for now ...

Having taken a large pay cut myself (1/2), I feel your pain. But then I ALSO get snow days and rain days. Alas, for me they are unpaid.
It all gets justified, tho, as I ride or drive the 10 minutes to work on an empty country road that winds beside the ocean.
I'd love to have a backyard rink, tho.
Yes, I was thinking of you during my 2 hour drive into work as I heard on the radio "all those wusses in Halton have a snow day"...funny, I WORK for Halton Region...and no snow day for me. Thought about it again my 1.5 hour drive home. Hope Ethan is feeling better, poor little guy.
Someone please convince Paige to play hockey.
As for snow days, woohoo! That' what the internet was invented for.
