Hey everyone, Jill here. I know it's pathetic we haven't blogged for over 4 months, but this is certainly blog worthy as you can tell from the exciting title. Yes, on my last day (Oct 8th) it will have been 7 years and 2 months that I've worked for Gord-o (sorry, you customer folk might know him as Gord Nixon ... or you simply don't care ... or aren't an RBC customer ... even though you are a customer of every other financial institution out there ... you know who I'm talking to). I am moving on to the Public Sector. Last week I accepted an offer for the position of Budget Analyst with the Halton Board of Education here in Burlington. A sweet 10 minute walk, if my feet could handle it, to the office! Although I'll have to give up my wonderful Tuesdays & Thursdays spent with Emma, it will be worth it in the end. Aaron & I have only dreamed of the idea of 1 of us working in the city where we live and now it's really happening. I'm still trying to imagine what it will be like to NOT ride the GO train every day. Especially in the winter when the switches freeze about 3 times a week ... good times.
Very exciting times ahead. Sadly enough I now need to get some work done because there is far too much to wrap up in these last 2 weeks. They've decided to "dissolve" my role as Project Coordinator (long story) so instead of me training one individual to take over my position, I need to meet with and train several people in different areas to cover my responsibilities. Lucky me. ~Jill

Meh... forget about covering responsibilities. Just bail. Sounds like a good switch. Banks are going down.
Congratulations, Jill. It sounds like dream come true. Good luck on Tuesday.
